We’re looking for an Associate Product Manager who will enjoy a fast-paced environment and is passionate about successfully developing, improving and marketing our products. The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys working with cross-functional teams to bring products to market. Ideal for someone who wants exposure in a small business environment.

 

Working closely with the Product Manager and Director of Product Management, the Associate Product Manager - Laboratory will be involved with all aspects of product marketing and executing marketing tactics in order to bring on new product lines, along with maintaining and enhancing current product lines, to the laboratory space. Activities include: market assessment, customer engagement, pricing, promotion, and product strategy as well as production coordination and preparation of product launch materials, promotion throughout product life cycle and other duties as assigned. This position will be the advocate for the success of this product line within the organization.



Major Job Responsibilities, Functions, and Duties:

  • Accountable for the profitability and livelihood of the product area of focus. Adds value to the company through strategically entering new markets, improving current markets, retiring old markets.
  • Utilize the New Markets team to determine advantageous markets to enter into.
  • Act as product expert on all aspects of assigned product lines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and react to troubleshoot potential problems.
  • Assist with management and documentation surrounding sourcing, supplier qualification, incoming QC, labeling/marketing collateral, customer feedback, customer complaints, and supplier corrective actions as necessary for all non-regulated products.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to create valuable materials and email campaigns to target the customer base that result in positive return.
  • Plan yearly tradeshow activities for the product line which includes strategy, plan, set up, promotions, working the shows, and creating follow up plans for the shows.
  • Work cross-functionally across the organization to drive project completion forward.
  • Accountable to move product line assignments forward on time and take responsibility and use discretion for minimizing expenses.
  • Work closely with the Engineering team on learning techniques for identifying materials, technologies, and processes that provide the best design solution.

 

General Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of relative work or internship experience, preferably in healthcare or a medical-related field.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a proactive approach to learning about the laboratory, seeking out new information, trends in the marketplace, and best practices to improve processes and drive innovation.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills and ability to prioritize workload and balance multiple projects at the same time.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Displays a positive, team player attitude and ability to collaborate well with others.
  • Able to conduct research, gather data, and organize information to present data in a meaningful way.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal direction.
  • Displays integrity and commitment to excellence in all work.
  • Effective attention to detail and displays a high degree of accuracy in work. Able to monitor own work for quality and thoroughness.
  • Takes initiative as a self-starter and is adept at problem-solving, including identifying issues and finding solutions with minimal direction.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change in response to evolving business needs, timelines, requests, etc.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to operate and rent a vehicle in all 50 states.

 

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Able to work in the headquarters office located in Chicago, IL.
  • Able to work in the distribution location of the company located in Mount Pleasant, WI.
  • Able to remain in a stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to work in a warehouse with potentially noisy and hazardous conditions.
  • Able to adjust, move, and lift objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be available for domestic travel (10-20%).


Compensation:

The salary range is expected to be $67,000 to $73,000 annually and will be determined based on prior experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus of up to 10% of the annual salary.
