Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple ongoing responsibilities within a fast‐paced and adaptive environment. The senior corporate accountant will handle the following responsibilities:


  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages for assigned entities.
  • Maintain, review, and analyze all general ledger accounts.
  • Perform overall income statement and balance sheet analysis.
  • Assist senior accounting management with tax return review and compliance processes.
  • Oversee the accounting and operations for multiple private investment vehicles.
  • Assist with accounting and operations of private equity real estate funds.
  • Support senior manager in all investment fund accounting.
  • Analyze processes for improvement. Recommend and implement process changes where appropriate.
  • Prepare analyses to support annual financial statement audits and the preparation of tax returns.
  • Participate in special projects and prepare ad hoc reports as needed.


Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess the following:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a highly regarded undergraduate institution
  • Certified Public Accountant designation
  • 2+ years of experience in the tax or audit group of a large public accounting firm
  • Exposure to and familiarity with commercial real estate a plus
  • Strong familiarity with pass‐through accounting and tax matters
  • Proficient with MS Office software and experience with Yardi a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate information succinctly and anticipate and resolve issues/problems on a proactive basis.
  • Ability to prioritize well and “manage up” to multiple managers.
  • Detail‐oriented, yet flexible, while operating in a dynamic environment with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent collaborative skills to work in partnership with colleagues and across various departments.
  • High energy level, willing to take on new tasks and drive them to completion while working independently.
  • Strong work ethic with the highest degree of honesty, integrity, and discretion.
