Be part of a technology team responsible for managing a network of 600+ Linux workstations and servers in an environment utilizing the latest hardware and software. Work closely with developers and quantitative researchers to maintain and optimize the real-time trading systems in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Responsibilities of the Linux Administrator:
- Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology requiring 24x7 uptime.
- Administer LDAP, DNS, and NFS infrastructure.
- Configure and install new servers and workstations.
- Develop shell script utilities for monitoring and administration duties.
- Conduct system performance tuning and optimization.
- Install and administer commercial and proprietary software, utilities, compilers and licensing.
- Administer and configure virtual machines using the VMware vSphere virtualization engine.
- Manage shared storage systems.
- Provide outstanding end-user support.
Requirements of the Linux Administrator:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience with Redhat Enterprise or Oracle Linux.
- Given the mission-critical nature of our applications, the ability to work well under pressure and as part of an on-call support rotation.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and support users on all aspects of our technology stack.
- Experience with Veritas cluster systems is an asset, but not a prerequisite.
